Season 14 Lair Boss farming is less about beating the nastiest encounter and more about spending keys where they actually matter. If your build is missing one core Unique, chasing random Mythics can feel like burning fuel for nothing. Keep a small reserve of D4 Gold for repairs, upgrades, and quick build adjustments, then pick the boss whose dedicated pool contains the item you need. That's the bit many players skip. They run whatever is available, get piles of unrelated gear, and wonder why their build still feels unfinished.
Initiate bosses are the sensible starting point. Varshan, Grigoire, Lord Zir, Beast in the Ice, and Urivar each open their Hoard with one Lair Key. They're not just entry-level fights. Varshan is the place for items such as Raiment of the Infinite, Greatstaff of the Crone, and Overkill. Grigoire has Paingorger's Gauntlets and Hunter's Zenith. Zir is worth a visit for X'Fal's Corroded Signet, Cruor's Embrace, or Skyhunter. Beast in the Ice covers drops like Deathless Visage and Starfall Coronet, while Urivar carries Tibault's Will, Flamescar, and Windforce. If your target is on one of those lists, don't overthink it.
Build a practical farming route
The cleanest approach is to separate getting the item from chasing a perfect version. You'll save keys, and you won't feel forced into bosses your character can't clear comfortably yet.
Check which Unique changes your build first, such as a resource item, skill conversion, or defensive piece.
Match that item to its dedicated boss pool and farm that boss until you have a usable copy.
Use Initiate boss runs to collect Greater Lair Keys instead of treating those keys as a side reward.
Move to Duriel, Andariel, Harbinger of Hatred, or Bloodied Butcher when their pools fit your next upgrade.
Save Belial access for a selected pool that still helps your build and gives you a worthwhile Mythic chance.
Greater bosses bring another layer of choice. Duriel is a strong route for Razorplate, Condemnation, Rod of Kepeleke, and Blue Rose. Andariel can drop Godslayer Crown, Lidless Wall, Beastfall Boots, and Ring of the Midnight Sun. Harbinger of Hatred offers Temerity, Tal Rasha's Iridescent Loop, Sepazontec, and several class pieces, while Bloodied Butcher has The Butcher's Cleaver, Ramaladni's Magnum Opus, Scoundrel's Kiss, and more. Astaroth and Bartuc are different. They're tied to Escalating Nightmares and Infernal Hordes, so they make sense when you already enjoy those activities rather than as a forced detour.
Belial is where targeting and Mythic hunting overlap, because you can choose a boss pool when opening his Hoard. Corrupted Reaper is more about top-end quality, Pandemonium Fragments, and upgrading a nearly finished setup. Don't spend premium access just because you've got it. Use it when you know whether you need the right item or a better copy. If you're preparing for that longer grind, Diablo IV Gold for sale can also help cover the ordinary costs that pile up between attempts, from repairs to gear changes.
